Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct applies to all Koha users, including visitors, outlining our expectations for behaviour within the Koha community. Our aim is to foster a supportive, respectful, and positive environment for all users to engage in charitable activities.

General Principles:

  1. Adherence to Policies: Follow Koha's Terms of Service, Content Management Policy, and this Code of Conduct.

  2. Community Engagement: Engage respectfully with others, valuing open and constructive communication.

  3. Integrity in Representation: Ensure all shared information is honest and accurate.

  4. Collaborative Interaction: Cooperate with other users and our team, promoting a culture of support.

  5. Empowerment through Giving: Respect the platform's role in facilitating donations and fundraising, without acting as a charitable regulator.

For Events:

  1. Content Guidelines: Post content that is respectful, safe, and in compliance with our policies.

  2. Transparent Fundraising: Clearly represent your fundraising goals and use funds as advertised.

  3. Engagement with Donors: Communicate regularly with donors, offering transparency and updates.

  4. Adaptability: Update your event as needed and work with our team during unforeseen challenges.

  5. Legal Compliance: Follow all relevant laws in your fundraising and fund management.

  6. Accountability: Fulfill all obligations related to your fundraising efforts.

Digital Respect and Etiquette:

  • Encourage a positive digital footprint and respectful dialogue, even during disagreements.

Inclusivity and Diversity:

  • Commit to inclusivity, celebrating diversity, and prohibiting discrimination.

Safety and Security:

  • Advise on protecting personal information and adopting secure online practices.

Environmental Responsibility:

  • Suggest sustainable practices for fundraising, aligning with environmental conservation.

Feedback and Continuous Improvement:

  • Invite feedback on the Code of Conduct for ongoing improvement and adapt to community needs.

Conflict Resolution:

  • Provide guidelines for resolving disputes, with support available for affected users.

Compliance with the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015 (HDCA):

Align with HDCA principles to deter harm from digital communications. Users must conduct themselves honestly and respectfully. Koha will take action against harmful or offensive content.
